Havaya Arts

This unique opportunity is perfect for young artists who want to tailor their Camp Havaya experience to include significant time each day specializing in musical theater or ceramics. Tuition for the program is $1,000, in addition to camp tuition; this fee covers teaching artists and all program supplies. Havaya Arts is offered exclusively during the first two weeks of the Bet session. You can sign-up your child for the program when completing your camper application.

Discounts, Fees, and Cancellations

Discounts

Families with more than one camper may take $100 off tuition as a sibling discount for each camper after the first.

Kuppah

In keeping with Camp’s egalitarian values, a $100 fee, per camper, will be assessed to cover shuk (canteen), Summer 2023 Camp T-shirt, and special program opportunities.

Fund for Excellence

$360 will be added to each family’s account as an annual, voluntary, tax-deductible donation to the Camp Havaya Fund for Excellence. As we continue to grow – and especially in these challenging times – we rely on the generosity of our Camp families to help us “raise the bar” so we can offer the most creative, innovative, and engaging programs. The Fund for Excellence allows us to do just that – to provide more of the high quality programming that has made us one of the “Top 10 Jewish Camps.”

Additional Fees

Families who are not members of a congregation affiliated with Reconstructing Judaism pay an additional $300 annual fee.

For campers who are not flying or being driven to Camp, bus service from Newark Airport, Bethesda (Maryland), and Boston (arrival only) will be provided at a cost of $250 roundtrip per family (subject to sufficient enrollment).

Cancellation Insurance

AMSkier’s Peace of Mind provides parents with a partial refund of tuition if their camper is sick or injured and is unable to attend camp. In addition, there is coverage if the camper leaves camp early or if there is a death in the family. This policy has various limits and options available, including coverage for baggage and personal effects. Click here for more information. (If you are interested in Cancel-for-any-Reason insurance, which must be purchased within two weeks of making your initial deposit, please click here to learn more.)

Please note that cancellation deadlines and insurance are different for Havaya Israel. For more information, please contact us.

Our goal is that no camper is turned away from Camp for financial reasons.

Through incentive grants for first-time campers and generous financial aid for those who need, we strive to make Camp financially accessible to all camper families.

One Happy Camper

In partnership with Foundation for Jewish Camp, Camp Havaya offers an incentive program that is open to campers who live anywhere in North America! The Camp Havaya One Happy Camper program provides financial incentives of up to $1,000 for eligible first-time campers. After you register for Camp, visit www.onehappycamper.org to apply for this great incentive!

Financial Aid

We strive to make Camp financially accessible to all camper families. When applying for Camp, families may request financial aid information; applications will be sent only to families whose children have already been registered. All financial aid applications must be postmarked by January 31, 2024.

As the flagship Reconstructionist camp, we realize that some families may incur significant additional costs for travel. Travel subsidies may be available upon request for costs over $250 per child (up to a total reimbursement, per child, of $200) depending on the distance from home to Camp. The travel subsidy is separate from financial aid. Please contact us for more information.

We know signing up is just the start.

The summer will be here before you know it and we know there may be a lot of questions. We’re happy to help!
