Build for the future.

When Camp Havaya opened its doors as Camp JRF in 2002 with 39 campers on a rented facility outside Chicago, our founders hoped they were planting seeds that would grew into a thriving forest.

Today, Camp Havaya is one of the most well-respected non-profit Jewish summer camps in North America. In the last fifteen years, we have purchased the beautiful Aaron and Marjorie Ziegelman Campus in South Sterling, Pennsylvania; constructed a one-of-a-kind Eco-Village to expand our capacity and provide a tangible lesson to our campers on sustainable living; and forged an ever-stronger relationship with the Reconstructionist movement. Every summer, more than 400 campers and 100 staff and faculty members come together to create a joyful and welcoming Jewish youth community that transforms lives.

We turn now to our founders, long-time supporters, alumni, and friends to ask for help to perpetuate the Camp Havaya experience for generations to come. Members of the L’chaim and Legacy Society will have made bequests and/or planned gifts, identifying themselves and devoted sustainers of our work and community. Society members will be publicly recognized on our website and on an annual basis in our monthly newsletter; they will be invited each summer to join our Camp community for Shabbat in the Poconos; and, most significantly, they will know that their contribution will help to perpetuate our values m’dor l’dor – from generation to generation.
